‘The challenges in Manipur are yet to be resolved’

BY A STAFF REPORTER: CDS General Anil Chauhan commented on the situation in Manipur state. He says, "The situation in Manipur has nothing to do with suppression of insurgency and it is basically a clash between two ethnic groups. We are helping the state government. We have done an excellent job and saved a large number of lives. The challenges in Manipur are yet to be resolved and we expect it to take a long time for this situation to settle down.’ Meanwhile Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently in violence-hit Manipur. He has already held talks with the chief ministers and other leaders of the state, as well as high-ranking officials.
