Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has praised the Union Budget 2025, calling it “progressive and future-oriented.” He stated that the budget outlines several measures to accelerate the country’s development while also addressing Bihar’s growth prospects.

He welcomed the announcement of a Makhana Board in Bihar, which aims to enhance the production, processing, value addition, and marketing of Makhana (fox nuts), a key agricultural product in the state. He emphasized that this initiative would significantly benefit Makhana farmers, improving their earnings and strengthening Bihar’s rural economy.

Another major highlight for Bihar in the budget is the provision for Greenfield airports to cater to the state’s future aviation needs. He expressed optimism that these airports would not only increase the number of international flights operating from Bihar but also boost the state’s overall economic growth by attracting investment, tourism, and improved connectivity.

The Chief Minister acknowledged that the central government’s focus on infrastructure development, industry promotion, and rural upliftment aligns with Bihar’s aspirations for sustained progress. He expressed hope that the announcements made in the budget would be implemented effectively, ensuring that Bihar continues to benefit from the central government’s policies.
