Nitish goes soft on IAS killer

Anand Mohan is the main accused in the death of gangster don and 1985 batch IAS officer. The Bihar government released him. As a result, intense debates have started.

By A Staff Reporter: Gangster don and prime accused in the 1985 batch IAS officer’s death, Anand Mohan was set free by Bihar government triggering off an intense debate. Citing at neighbouring UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s war cry against criminals and spate of “natural justice”, Bihar Chief minister Nitish Kumar is widely touted as “soft” on gangsters. Mafia don Anand Mohan Singh has many cases of extortion, kidnapping, murder cases against him and was on a death sentence which was commuted to life imprisonment. Nitish government in a surprise order released him from custody. Political pundits mentioned that Nitish Kumar is widely known to  play the politician criminal nexus card to pursue another term in office. But Bihar administration specially IAS officers are up in arms. They have strongly protested the release.
