New Delhi: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has come out strongly in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi following US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose an additional 25% tariff on India over its oil trade with Russia. Calling the move an attack not just on policy but on the people of India, Dubey asserted that the country must stand united to send a strong message to the global community.

“Trump is imposing tariffs on 140 crore Indians,” Dubey said, emphasising the need for national solidarity in the face of international pressure. Drawing a parallel with India’s recent geopolitical responses such as “Operation Sindoor,” he called for collective resolve to back the Prime Minister’s leadership in navigating these challenges.

In a sharp political counterattack, Dubey accused the Congress party and its top leaders—Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi—of having deep-rooted ties with corporate houses, including Adani, Ambani, GMR, and Essar. He claimed that between 1995 and 2024, Congress and its allies used private aircraft from these groups nearly 250 times and shared personal connections with business magnates.

Dubey dismissed the opposition’s narrative around "crony capitalism," questioning what past Congress governments received from industrialists such as Tata, Birla, and others. “Our Prime Minister hasn’t taken anything from anyone,” he said, defending Modi’s record as clean and free of corporate influence.
