New Delhi: During his recent visit to the national capital, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed firm support for Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to cross-border terrorism, and held a significant meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to propose turning Andhra Pradesh into a major defence manufacturing hub.
Naidu commended the precision and leadership behind the operation, praising both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajnath Singh for their roles in bolstering national security. “Our armed forces carried out a highly accurate operation under the supervision of Rajnath Singh and the leadership of Prime Minister Modi,” Naidu said.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister outlined ambitious proposals to establish key defence infrastructure projects across Andhra Pradesh, aligned with the Make in India initiative. He emphasized the need to trust and invest in indigenous technology and sought the establishment of additional Sainik Schools in the state.
Key proposals included:
Missile and ammunition units in the Jaggaiahpet–Donakonda cluster (6,000 acres)
Aircraft and electronics manufacturing in Lepakshi–Madakasira (10,000 acres)
Naval equipment and testing facilities in the Visakhapatnam–Anakapalli region
Drone and robotics production in Orvakal, Kurnool (4,000 acres)
Naidu said Rajnath Singh responded positively, particularly to the idea of creating a comprehensive aerospace ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. With abundant land and strategic geographic advantages, Naidu believes the state can play a key role in strengthening India’s defence production capabilities.
