MUMBAI — The city police have gone on high alert after receiving a threat message via WhatsApp claiming that 14 terrorists had entered Mumbai carrying 400 kilograms of RDX, which had allegedly been planted in 34 vehicles across the city. Officials confirmed that security arrangements have been intensified in response to the warning.
According to police sources, the message, which circulated late Thursday, has prompted multiple agencies to initiate verification measures. Senior officers said combing operations and random checks have been stepped up at sensitive locations, including transport hubs, crowded public areas, and government installations. Special teams have been deployed to trace the origin of the message and assess its authenticity.
“Mumbai police are taking the matter seriously and all necessary precautions have been put in place. Investigations are underway to determine the credibility of the threat,” an official said.
