Mumbai: As Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations begin, the Mumbai Police have implemented robust security measures across the city. Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Satyanarayan Chaudhary stated that adequate arrangements have been made for the 'Ganpati Agaman' processions. Security forces have been stationed along all routes and at pandals to ensure public safety.
Chaudhary emphasized that police have coordinated with all Ganpati pandal organizers to enhance security. "Our senior officers are visiting each pandal, and measures like CCTV monitoring, traffic management, and parking management have been implemented," he noted.
The city’s police force is heavily involved, with 45 ACPs, 30 DCPs, around 2,500 officers, and 13,000 personnel on duty. Specialized units have also been deployed for added security during the Ganpati Visarjan.
The extensive arrangements aim to ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration, ensuring the safety of both devotees and the general public.
