In response to speculation by former US President Donald Trump about the possibility of nuclear conflict, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated that India’s military actions during the recent standoff with Pakistan were entirely conventional in nature.
“The military action from our side was entirely in the conventional domain,” Jaiswal said, dismissing any claims of nuclear escalation. He further clarified that although there had been reports about Pakistan's National Command Authority meeting on May 10, these reports were later denied by Pakistan itself. “Pakistan’s Foreign Minister has also publicly denied any nuclear angle on record,” he added.
The MEA spokesperson firmly reiterated India’s stance on nuclear blackmail, stating, “India will not give in to nuclear blackmail or allow cross-border terrorism to be conducted invoking it.” Jaiswal also conveyed India’s message to the international community, cautioning countries against entertaining such scenarios, as it could negatively impact stability in their own regions.
