Imphal, Manipur: Amid the ongoing crisis in Manipur, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh provided an update on the security situation in the state, following a comprehensive security review meeting held earlier today. The meeting, attended by top officials from the Army, police, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, and other security agencies, focused on assessing the security needs of all districts, including Imphal city.

Singh explained that the review involved discussions with the District Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) of various districts, addressing the challenges faced in maintaining law and order. "Today, we had a security review meeting, and in this meeting, we reviewed the security of all the districts and Imphal city. During the meeting, we had Army, police, CRPF, BSF, ITBP officials present. Whatever problems come up, we are all together," Singh said.

A significant development highlighted in the meeting was the additional deployment of security forces. "We are getting approximately 90 companies of extra force deployment, over and above the actual deployment here. 198 companies were already deployed, and 70 more companies are coming, a sizeable portion of which has already reached Imphal," Singh added.

The increase in force deployment aims to strengthen security and address the escalating tensions in the region. The government’s decision to deploy additional personnel underscores the seriousness with which authorities are approaching the ongoing crisis, with a focus on restoring peace and stability.

The meeting also highlighted the collaborative efforts of various security forces and local officials to address the challenges, signaling a unified approach to tackle the situation in Manipur.
