Fear and shock grippled the internet as a video of 2 women being paraded by a group of men went viral on social media. It has drawn massive condemnation by politicians and demand for safety. According to reports, the incident occurred on 4th May in Kangpokpi district. A FIR was also filed in Kangpokpi. Reacting to the horror, state CM N Biren Singh asked the police to investigate the case and bring the preparators to light. He has also spoken to Women and Child Development minister and assured her of speedy action against the men involved in this heinous crime. Manipur continues to bear the brunt of clashes between Meitei and Kuki. In a tweet, the Manipur police has confirmed they have filed a case of rape and murder. They also said the survivors came to them 15 days later after the incident and said they have got leads and will catch the accused in a day or two.
