Centre is silent even as Manipur burns, claimed senior leaders of the BJP in unison as they appeal for peace. The situation is deteriorating from bad to worse with fresh violence erupting in Sugnu area in Kakching district close to the Mysnmar border.

Centre is silent even as Manipur burns, claimed senior leaders of the BJP in unison as they appeal for peace. The situation is deteriorating from bad to worse with fresh violence erupting in Sugnu area in Kakching district close to the Mysnmar border.

According to locals at ground zero, kukis, tribals are fighting a pitched battle with the Arambai Tengol and Meitei Leepun, two underground militant organisations of the Meiteis. Several houses have been set on fire, a massive fight goung on between the communities as violence continues unabated. Innocent residents, intellectuals and locals have uniformly requested for installing President's rule in the state.

 

``That's the only way Manipur can survive. Centre imposes President's rule in various circumstances in rest of the country, but why are they so reluctant in doing the same in Manipur,'' Nikesh Singh, a local resident said. Even majority of the ruling BJP ministers and leaders want the N Biren Singh government to be sacked and imposition of President's rule.
