Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ongoing support for the northeastern region, particularly Manipur, following the inclusion of a new healthcare unit in the state. During a public address, Singh highlighted that the foundation stone for the healthcare unit, valued at approximately Rs 16 Crores, reflects the importance the Prime Minister places on development in the region.
“We are very grateful to PM Modi for including the foundation stone laying of our healthcare unit. It is not about money but the importance that the PM has given to Manipur and other parts of the northeast,” Singh stated. He emphasized that PM Modi consistently focuses on the welfare of the northeastern states, with Manipur receiving special attention.
Singh also commended the Ayushman Bharat scheme, through which PM Modi launched health cards granting coverage of Rs 5 Lakhs for people aged 70 and above across India. "That is a good service to people," Singh said, noting the positive impact of the initiative on elderly citizens.
In his speech, Singh reiterated his gratitude for the Prime Minister's initiatives that contribute to uplifting the northeast and advancing healthcare access in Manipur, ensuring that citizens in the state and beyond benefit from enhanced healthcare support and resources.
