Howrah: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday reaffirmed her government's commitment to national unity in the fight against terrorism. Speaking at a press conference following a high-level meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Banerjee emphasized the need for collective action and calm.
“Today, the Union Home Minister held a meeting with some of the Chief Ministers of bordering states,” Banerjee said, referring to the closed-door discussions that brought together several state and central government leaders. “I will not talk about what we discussed in the meeting. Additionally, we held a meeting with all central government departments and state government departments. We are all together in this fight against terrorism.”

While she chose not to disclose details of the meeting's content, Banerjee’s remarks highlighted a rare moment of coordination between her administration and the Centre, amid often contentious political relations.
“There is no reason to panic right now,” she assured, urging the public to remain calm while security agencies across the country work in tandem to counter any threats.
