By A Staff Reporter

In a detailed statement regarding the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Lt Gen (Retd) KJS Dhillon addressed the possibility of a military response, emphasizing that any action against Pakistan would be a collective national decision.

"More details will emerge once the security forces complete their analysis and information flows," Dhillon said, adding that a response to terrorism from Pakistan is a matter of national policy. He highlighted the preparedness of the Indian military, which has conducted extensive planning and reconnaissance. "The military has rehearsed and planned area-specific operations. They are ready to act as soon as they get the go-ahead," he explained.

Dhillon further outlined the range of military options available, including operations within 5 km, 40 km, or even deeper into Pakistan's territory. "These operations can be carried out using single or multiple services, and each action can be tailored to the specific requirements of the mission," he said. The former military leader also mentioned that these operations would be conducted in conjunction with diplomatic, economic, and political strategies.

"Retaliation will be swift, powerful, and at a time and place of our choosing," Dhillon warned. He added that any response would be aimed at causing significant damage to Pakistan, delivering a crushing blow that would "hurt, bleed, and pain" the nation. "There will be a big warning—anything Pakistan does in return will be met with ten times stronger retaliation," Dhillon concluded, signaling a firm stance on responding to acts of terrorism.
