Lok Sabha Elections: BJP Releases First List of Candidates

The 195 members will contest from 16 states and two Union Territories. As usual, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest from the Varanasi constituency.

Narendra Modi to contest from the Varanasi constituency. 

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, the BJP released its first list of candidates, containing 195 names, on 2nd March, Saturday.

The 195 members will contest from 16 states and two Union Territories. As usual, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest from the Varanasi constituency. 

Furthermore, the first list includes 28 women and 47 young leaders as candidates for the Lok Sabha Polls. Moreover, 34 Union Ministers and Lok Sabha Speaker figures are also mentioned in the list. 

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held in April or May to elect the members of the 18th Lok Sabha assembly. Moreover, the ECI will likely release the schedule for the general election in March.
