Remove CM to give peace a chance in Manipur: local residents

By A Staff Reporter : Peace in Manipur is a far cry. The peace committees and other government sponsored process is a non starter. Violence and fierce fighting continued in various parts of Sadar hills in Manipur. People cutting across political and community line mentioned that there is only one way forward. Remove chief minister N Biren Singh. ANM News spoke to cross section of BJP leaders and ministers and they all spoke in unison demanding his removal and installing President’s rule. Letpao Haokip,  a BJP leader and tribal affairs minister claimed that sporadic incidents of violence are continuing and imposing President’s rule is the only way forward. Security advisor Kuldeep Singh said combing operation is in full swing but forces are encountering multiple problems. “The people have to coexist and cooperate and give peace a chance. We are trying our best,” he added. Senior BJP leader and minister Biswajit Singh is organising relief camps and appealing for peace. “Forget and forgive and let’s move forward,” he appealed.
