Srinagar — With the annual Amarnath Yatra 2025 approaching, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday assured the public of robust safety and hospitality arrangements while announcing key updates, including the suspension of helicopter services for this year’s pilgrimage.
Addressing media in Srinagar, Sinha said, “Heli services have been stopped this time,” without citing a specific reason. However, he underscored that the Shrine Board and the administration are jointly taking steps to ensure the welfare of pilgrims and support staff.
“We are arranging insurance coverage not just for the travellers, but also for 'Ponywalas' and 'Pitthuwalas' who are an integral part of the Yatra ecosystem,” he said, stressing the administration’s commitment to inclusive safety and support.
Calling on the media and public to spread a message of unity and peace, the LG added, “I request that this message should go out in the country — that no one can match the hospitality of the people of Kashmir.”
