Another train accident! Jan Shatabdi Express derails

BY A  STAFF REPORTER: The Jan Shatabdi Express derailed near Basin Bridge Workshop in Chennai late on Thursday night. However, no casualty was reported.

Passengers of Jan Shatabdi Express from Vijayawada boarded dr MGR Chennai Central station at Puratchi Thalaivar. Then the front two wheels of a coach derailed while the Basin Bridge was heading towards the railway yard.

According to reports, the incident took place around 12 am and the entire train was empty at that time. No one was injured. The derailed wheels were brought back on track after more than two hours of efforts by railway staff.

Railway officials said no train services on the main line were disrupted due to the incident. Police are questioning the loco pilot and other railway officials in connection with the incident.
