ISRO Official Warns of Rising Global Tensions, Highlights India's Defense Preparations

Hyderabad: The looming threat of a third world war, exacerbated by ongoing conflicts such as the Ukraine-Russia war, has placed defense preparedness at the forefront of every nation's agenda. Speaking at the National Security Summit hosted by Sigma 9 Aerospace Defence in Hyderabad, SV Sharma, Deputy Director of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), highlighted India's proactive steps in fortifying its defenses.

"The current global situation, with the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia and other conflicts, poses a significant threat of a third world war. This is why every country is preparing itself, and India is no less than others in designing and preparing a robust shield for its own defence," said Sharma.

He elaborated on how nations worldwide are racing to bolster their security frameworks in response to increasing geopolitical instability. For India, a focus on cutting-edge aerospace and defense technologies has been pivotal in creating a strong deterrent against potential threats.

The summit gathered defense leaders, scientists, and policymakers to discuss advancements in aerospace defense systems and strategies to mitigate emerging threats. Sharma's insights underlined ISRO's critical role in enhancing India's defense capabilities through satellite-based surveillance, navigation, and communication systems.

Sharma also commended the collaborative efforts between ISRO, defense organizations, and private-sector players in building resilient defense infrastructure. "Our innovations in space technology not only support scientific advancements but also strengthen national security," he added.
