Kolkata: In a bid to support and raise awareness for the plight of minorities in Bangladesh, the ISKCON Kolkata community organized a Kirtan Sabha. The gathering aimed to express solidarity and convey to the affected communities that their struggles have not been forgotten.
Speaking at the event, ISKCON Kolkata Vice President Radharaman Das stated, "Many times, minorities in Bangladesh feel that the world has forgotten them and no one cares. Through this Kirtan Sabha, we want to send a message that they live in our hearts and prayers, and we are praying for their safety."
The Vice President also addressed recent concerns surrounding a plea in Bangladesh's High Court seeking a ban on ISKCON activities. "We were worried yesterday due to talks about Bangladesh potentially banning ISKCON. However, the High Court has clarified that this issue doesn't fall under its jurisdiction, which has brought us some relief," he added.
The gathering reflected ISKCON’s continued commitment to promoting peace and support for oppressed communities worldwide. The event was marked by devotional chants, prayers, and messages of unity aimed at spreading hope among those facing challenges in Bangladesh.
Radharaman Das also emphasized that the community would remain vigilant and engaged in advocating for justice and harmony, urging global citizens and authorities to stand with marginalized communities. ISKCON’s Kirtan Sabha stands as a reminder of the power of collective faith and action in confronting adversity.
