A 1992 batch DGP takes over as Chennai police chief

Tamil Nadu government has posted Charles Sobhraj fame IPS officer Sandeep Rai Rathore as the new commissioner of police, Chennai.

The 1992 batch IPS officer was instrumental in tracking down and investigating the French bikini killer Charles Sobhraj. Rathore was posted as commissioner of police, Avadi, before becoming DGP, training last month.

 An alumni from the Delhi school of economics, Rathore brings with him years of experience in critical policing and is known to have initiated several new measures as joint commissioner of police, traffic in Chennai police.
