Tirupati: A minor technical issue prompted an IndiGo flight en route from Tirupati to Hyderabad to return to its origin on July 20, 2025. IndiGo flight 6E 6591, which had departed as scheduled, was forced to turn back shortly after takeoff as a precautionary measure following the detection of the snag.
According to a statement issued by an IndiGo spokesperson, the pilots opted to return to Tirupati in the interest of passenger safety. “The aircraft landed safely, and necessary checks will be conducted before the aircraft resumes operations,” the spokesperson said.
The airline further confirmed that all passengers were unharmed and were either re-accommodated on the next available flights or issued a full refund, based on their individual preferences.
“The safety of our passengers is our top priority. We regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate our customers’ understanding,” the airline said.
