Dubai: Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday underlined India’s strong economic fundamentals and reform-driven growth, calling the country a “vibrant economy” with significant global potential.

Speaking in Dubai, Pradhan said India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has consistently pursued reforms, with the most recent being the rollout of GST 2.0 on September 3. “In a developed economy, the simple formula is a simplified tax mechanism and a less tax mechanism. Our fundamentals are very positive, and we are on the path of continuous reform,” he noted.

The minister pointed to India’s 7.8% growth rate as a reflection of resilience and opportunity in the economy. He emphasised that reforms across taxation, infrastructure, and education were helping create a balanced and sustainable growth model.

Pradhan also highlighted the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which he said was positioning India as a global hub for knowledge and skills. He noted that India’s expanding engagement in the UAE was not limited to trade and investment but also involved strong community participation.

“Our relationship will further enhance economic cooperation and people-to-people ties, contributing to the overall growth of both UAE and India’s business ecosystems,” Pradhan said.
