New Delhi: Indian Railways is gearing up for the smooth transportation of millions of pilgrims expected to attend the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. In a statement earlier today, Dilip Kumar, Executive Director (Information & Publicity), assured that Railways has made extensive arrangements to handle the huge influx of travelers.
"The Indian Railways will play a crucial role in Maha Kumbh. We have made sufficient arrangements for smooth commutation for the pilgrims," Kumar said, emphasizing the organization’s preparedness for the event.
Kumar revealed that, in addition to the 10,000 regular trains already in operation, over 3,000 additional trains will be deployed specifically for the Maha Kumbh. These trains will help cater to the massive number of devotees traveling to Prayagraj and returning from the event.
"We will ensure to provide smooth commutation to all pilgrims going to Prayagraj and returning from there," he added, outlining that Indian Railways is taking extra steps to ensure seamless and safe travel for the participants.
These initiatives come as part of Indian Railways' commitment to ensure accessibility, safety, and convenience for the millions of people expected to attend the spiritual gathering in 2025. Authorities are also coordinating with local and state officials to ensure that all logistical arrangements are in place for crowd management and public safety.
