Indian Navy helicopter suffers a technical snag during take-off

Andhra Pradesh: Following heavy rainfall leading to a flood-like situation in Andhra Pradesh, the Indian Navy has deployed multiple assets to support the ongoing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations in the state. The Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam has mobilized Indian Naval Aircraft, Flood Relief Teams (FRTs), and diving teams to aid in rescue and relief efforts.

A total of four helicopters, comprising two Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) and two Chetak helicopters, along with one Dornier aircraft, have been deployed to provide search and rescue (SAR) coverage in the affected areas. These assets have so far successfully rescued 22 stranded individuals and air-dropped over 1,000 kg of food supplies to those in need.

In addition, ten Flood Relief Teams have been dispatched to enhance the ongoing rescue operations across the flood-hit regions. The Navy has also positioned additional rescue teams and equipment on standby, ready to be deployed as required to ensure effective assistance and support during this crisis.

The Indian Navy's swift response and readiness highlight its commitment to aiding civil authorities in disaster situations and also to providing necessary assistance to those who are affected by the severe weather conditions in Andhra Pradesh.
