The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, which means rainfall in excess of 115.5m in 24 hours. According to KS Hosalikar, a senior scientist of IMD, possibilities are there of monsoon enhancing over Konkan region, including Mumbai and satellite cities, and their is a chance of heavy rain and IMD has issued warnings for Konkan, Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra.

 Mumbai has got 47mm of rain from Sunday till Monday morning. As per IMD Data, rainfall deficit is 42%. However the rainfall has improved Mumbai's Air Quality Index, which has stood at 73, and has shown satisfactory level.
