BY A STAFF REPORTER: According to an official statement issued by the Lg's office in Delhi, the Indian Army has completed 80 per cent of the work of restoring the dam to the Irrigation and Flood Control Agency near the World Health Organization building.

"The Engineering Corps of the Indian Army, comprising three officers, six JCOs and 45 jawans, has completed about 80 per cent of the dam restoration work, resulting in the river water entering drain number 12," an official statement said. "

The Delhi LG's office said the restoration work is likely to be completed by Midnight on Friday, after which the restoration work at the mouth of the drain will begin.

"With positive and encouraging development, the water flowing from the river to the drain has gradually started moving in the opposite direction," the statement said. Once the dam is sealed, the pumps will start pumping water flowing from the drain into the river. '
