Delhi: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Thursday projected that India’s economy would expand nearly eightfold by 2047, growing from the present $4 trillion to $30 trillion. He attributed the country’s growth trajectory to the combined efforts of its people and stable governance.

Highlighting India’s performance amid global challenges, Goyal said, “Even in the first quarter, during a highly volatile and uncertain climate with geopolitical risks, India grew at 7.8%. That is only possible when you have a decisive leader like Narendra Modi guiding and leading the country.”

The minister underscored India’s appeal as a reliable economic partner, noting its adherence to the rule of law, vibrant media, functioning parliament, and strong judicial framework. He emphasized that India offers global investors “fair and equal treatment” alongside the comfort of operating within a stable democratic environment.

According to Goyal, India’s “collective bouquet of offerings” includes a demographic dividend of a young workforce, rising domestic demand from 1.4 billion citizens, and decisive political leadership. These, he said, give India a unique position in the global economy and ensure long-term growth prospects.
