New Delhi: In a strongly worded statement, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has accused Pakistan of launching a deliberate disinformation campaign to distort the narrative surrounding India’s counter-terrorism operations under #OperationSindoor. The ministry’s official handle, @MIB_India, posted that while India was conducting precision strikes, Pakistan had initiated a "parallel war — one of lies and false narratives."
“Pakistan’s Propaganda Files Exposed! While India executed precision strikes under #OperationSindoor, Pakistan launched a parallel war — one of lies and false narratives,” the ministry posted, using the hashtag #IndiaFightsPropaganda to mobilize public awareness and counter fake news.
The statement comes in the wake of rising tensions between the two countries, with India asserting that its military actions were targeted responses to cross-border terrorism. The MIB emphasized that the global community must recognize Pakistan’s efforts to malign India’s legitimate right to defend its sovereignty.
Indian officials have also highlighted how fabricated images, misleading videos, and distorted reports were being circulated online to discredit India's actions. Experts suggest that such information warfare is increasingly becoming a tool in geopolitical conflicts.
