New Delhi – In a firm response to China’s latest attempts to rename locations within Arunachal Pradesh, India has categorically rejected the move, labeling it a futile and absurd exercise. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal issued a strong statement reaffirming India’s unwavering position on the northeastern state.

“We have noticed that China has persisted with its vain and preposterous attempts to name places in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh,” Jaiswal stated. “Consistent with our principled position, we reject such attempts categorically. Creative naming will not alter the undeniable reality that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India,” the MEA said in its official communication.

The statement comes amid a new wave of Chinese actions involving the renaming of several geographical sites in Arunachal Pradesh—an area Beijing claims as part of “South Tibet,” despite longstanding Indian sovereignty and administrative control.
