India Recovers Likely Chinese and Turkish Weapon Debris; Expert Calls It “Gold” for Future Defense

New Delhi: In a significant development, the Indian military has recovered the debris of what is believed to be a Chinese-made PL-15 air-to-air missile and Turkish-made ammunition used by Pakistan in a recent attack on Indian soil. This find has captured the attention of military analysts, with experts underscoring the strategic value of the wreckage for India’s defense capabilities.

Foreign Affairs Expert Robinder Sachdev, speaking in Delhi, described the recovered materials as "war treasures" that could provide critical insights into the technology used by Pakistan in its military operations. “Once we get these wreckages or pieces that we recover, we can reverse engineer and very well understand the Chinese technology which goes into the weapons that the Pakistanis had used,” Sachdev said. He emphasized that this technology could be crucial in India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its defense mechanisms, particularly in the context of its future security relations with China.

The recovered debris includes the PL-15 missile, which is known for its advanced capabilities, and components from Turkish-made SONGAR drones. Sachdev pointed out that these technologies — including electronics jammers and drone engineering — would be invaluable for India in understanding the military systems employed by its adversaries. “Now we can reengineer and find out better what electronics jammers and what engineering is there in the Chinese drones or missiles which Pakistan has used. This would be helpful to us in the future situation with China. So this is gold for us,” he added.
