New Delhi, June 16: Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the Annual Conference 2025 of Relief Commissioners, Civil Defence, and Disaster Response Forces, highlighting India’s significant progress in disaster management. Speaking to a gathering of top officials and emergency responders, Shah credited India’s institutions with bringing the country to the forefront of global disaster preparedness.
“We all know that due to climate change and global warming, the entire world is concerned about disasters. But for all of us, it is a matter of pride that in just 10 years, NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority), NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), and CDRI (Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure) have brought India close to becoming a global leader in the field of disaster management,” he said.
The Home Minister emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among various disaster response stakeholders. He praised the swift and structured responses to recent natural calamities and reiterated the government’s commitment to building a resilient infrastructure network capable of withstanding future threats.
