New Delhi, May 22 — In a significant diplomatic statement, India has urged Türkiye to take a firm stand against terrorism emanating from Pakistan. Addressing the media earlier today, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized that New Delhi expects Ankara to play a constructive role in pressing Islamabad to end its decades-long support to cross-border terrorism.

"We expect Türkiye to strongly urge Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism, take credible and verifiable action against the terror ecosystem it has harboured for decades now," said Jaiswal.

The statement comes against the backdrop of ongoing regional and international efforts to combat terrorism and ensure regional stability. India has consistently maintained that Pakistan-based terror groups are responsible for numerous attacks on Indian soil and that such threats must be addressed through sustained international pressure.
