New Delhi: Leaders of the opposition's INDIA Alliance convened on July 19 to strategize for the upcoming Monsoon session of Parliament, with Congress MP Pramod Tiwari stating that the meeting focused on confronting what they termed as “crises” caused by the BJP-led NDA government.

Speaking to the media following the discussions, Tiwari said, “A detailed discussion was held regarding the crisis in which the nation has been pushed by the BJP-NDA Government. It was a joint effort conducted in a conducive environment, prioritising the national interest.”

Tiwari outlined eight major issues that the Alliance intends to raise in Parliament. Chief among them is the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, with leaders expressing concern over the lack of progress in identifying the perpetrators.

He also referenced international security concerns, pointing to statements regarding Operation Sindoor. “The US President has claimed multiple times to have facilitated a ceasefire, and there have been controversial claims about fighter jets being shot down,” he said, noting that such reports, if confirmed, raise serious questions.

Domestic issues highlighted included the political situation in Bihar, which Tiwari described as a “murder of democracy,” and concerns about India's global diplomatic standing. The Alliance also plans to spotlight ongoing conflicts in Gaza, alleged human rights violations, and what it views as increasing oppression against Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, women, and minorities.
