External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has asserted that India successfully met its strategic objectives during Operation Sindoor by decisively targeting terrorist infrastructure across the border. Speaking on the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan, Jaishankar revealed key details about the calculated nature of the military operation and the diplomatic communication that preceded it.

“We achieved the goals which we set out to do by destroying the terrorist infrastructure,” said Jaishankar. “Right from the start, we had conveyed a clear message to Pakistan: our strikes are directed solely at terrorist targets, not at the Pakistani military. They had the option to stay out of it.” He noted that Pakistan, however, chose not to heed the advice and suffered significant losses as a result.

The minister further disclosed that on the morning of May 10, Pakistani positions were "badly hit" during the peak of the operation. “Today, the satellite imagery tells a very clear story—graphically showing the extent of damage inflicted on the terrorist infrastructure by us, and how minimal their response damage was,” he said.

Jaishankar’s remarks reinforce India’s evolving strategic posture, emphasizing precision strikes, transparency in intent, and the maintenance of a clear distinction between counterterrorism operations and direct military conflict. He underlined that the cessation of action was a deliberate and responsible choice made only after India had accomplished its objectives.
