IMD: Heavy rain forecast with thunderstorms

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a weather alert predicting intense rainfall across several regions in India.

"Heavy to very heavy rainfall spell with isolated extremely heavy rainfall likely over Uttarakhand today and decrease thereafter," the IMD tweeted. The forecast also includes heavy to very heavy rainfall spells along the West Coast, many parts of northeast and east India, and Uttar Pradesh for the next five days.
