IAF Airlifts 221 Civilians, Restores Power Supply in Flood-Hit Uttarakhand

In a swift and coordinated humanitarian effort, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has evacuated 221 civilians from flood-hit regions of Uttarakhand, while also delivering crucial supplies and technical support to restore essential services.

According to an official update from the IAF, helicopters including the Chinook, Mi-17 V5, and Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) were deployed for the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations in the Harsil and Dharasu sectors. The missions were carried out in challenging weather and terrain, ensuring the safe transport of stranded residents to safer locations.

Alongside the evacuations, the IAF airlifted two power generators and inducted technicians from the Uttarakhand Power Corporation to help restore electricity in the affected areas. Over 10 tons of relief material, including essential supplies, was also delivered to aid local residents.
