Alongside revenue growth, the department has also initiated its vehicle scrapping policy at two designated locations in the state. So far, 400 old and unfit vehicles have been scrapped as part of the government’s efforts to modernize transportation and reduce pollution.
The increased revenue and the start of the scrapping initiative are seen as key steps towards improving transport infrastructure and environmental sustainability in Himachal Pradesh.
