Mumbai, June 16: Mumbai is witnessing a spell of intense rainfall, leading to temporary disruptions in flight operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Budget airline IndiGo has issued a travel advisory to passengers, urging them to check their flight status in advance and plan for delays due to waterlogged roads and traffic congestion.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), IndiGo stated: “There’s a heavy downpour over #Mumbai at the moment, causing some temporary disruption to flight schedules. If you’re travelling today, please be aware of potential delays and allow additional time for your journey, especially with traffic moving slower than usual.”

The airline assured passengers that they are monitoring the situation closely and making efforts to resume normal operations as soon as possible. “Please check your flight status on our app or website before leaving... We’re here if you need anything along the way,” the advisory added.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the city, forecasting continued heavy rain over the next 24 to 48 hours. Authorities are urging citizens to avoid non-essential travel and remain indoors wherever possible.
