Harivansh Narayan Singh Set To Attend 148th Inter-Parliamentary Union

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh on Thursday took off with a parliamentary delegation to participate in the 148th Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Geneva, Switzerland. 

The meet will be held from March 23 to March 27. Moreover, the delegation comprises five Rajya Sabha members namely S. Niranjan Reddy, Kartikeya Sharma, Dr. Ashok Mittal, Dr. Prashanta Nanda, Sumitra Balmik along with Mr. PC Mody, Secretary General, Rajya Sabha. 

Furthermore, Harivansh will take part in discussions on various topics of the agenda including a meeting of the BRICS Parliamentary Coordination Forum along with other bilateral meetings on the sidelines of IPU.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union is an international organization of national parliaments. It predominantly aims for democratic governance, accountability, and cooperation among its members. Apart from this, its purpose is to advance gender parity among legislatures, encourage youth participation in politics, and sustainable development.
