New Delhi: As the Monsoon Session of Parliament continues, senior Congress leader Harish Rawat voiced concerns over two key issues — the alleged deletion of names from Bihar’s voter list and the government’s handling of the Pahalgam terror attack under Operation Sindoor.

Speaking to reporters, Rawat said, “The SIR in Bihar is a contention, it is happening suddenly, many documents are not being considered, it is happening at the time of election.” He urged the Election Commission to address these concerns to ensure transparency and fairness in the democratic process.

On the discussion surrounding Operation Sindoor, Rawat stressed that the government must answer pressing questions regarding intelligence lapses. “In the issue of Pahalgam, there will be a discussion on the statement of the government. It would be better if the PM speaks, any other prominent leader can initiate, then the PM can intervene. But discussion should happen. There are many questions, the people want to know,” he said.

Rawat clarified that the Opposition does not intend to question the Armed Forces but reserves the right to seek accountability from the government. “We are not scrutinising the Armed Forces, but we can ask questions to the government. There was an intelligence failure,” he asserted.
