Delhi: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri visited Rohtas Nagar assembly constituency ahead of the upcoming Delhi elections, scheduled for February 5, and delivered a sharp critique of the current Delhi government, led by AAP's Arvind Kejriwal. He described the election as a landmark event, saying, "This upcoming election... I think this is a big one-of-a-kind election in our history and especially in the history of Delhi."

Puri began by pointing to India's remarkable economic growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, contrasting it with the state of the economy in 2014. "What was the economy when PM Modi came in 2014? We were at 10th or 11th position. It was said about India that it is in the 'fragile five'... Today we are at the 5th position in the world," Puri said, emphasizing the progress the country has made over the last decade.

Turning his attention to the Delhi government, Puri expressed disappointment with the promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration. "Our disappointment is with those who took charge of Delhi, 10 years ago... He made many promises, which he didn't fulfil," Puri noted. He specifically highlighted the unfulfilled commitment to clean the Yamuna River, recalling Kejriwal’s 2015 and 2020 pledges to not seek votes if the river was not cleaned. "Now it is 2025, and he is coming to ask for votes," Puri remarked, criticizing the lack of progress on this major environmental issue.
