Gurdaspur, Punjab: The Gurdaspur Police, in coordination with the district administration, have intensified efforts to curb stubble burning across the region as part of an extensive awareness and enforcement campaign. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Aditya said the joint initiative aims to both prevent environmental damage and motivate farmers toward sustainable practices.

“The Gurdaspur Police, in collaboration with the Gurdaspur administration, is actively working on protection measures. Joint meetings have been held involving the Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur, ADC, SDM, and police officers to motivate people and manage stubble burning,” SSP Aditya stated.

He further added that nearly 290 meetings have been organized across various villages and towns to identify potential hotspots. A joint team from the Gurdaspur administration and police is conducting regular patrols in these identified areas under the newly formed Parali Protection Force.
