Indian chess grandmaster Divya Deshmukh expressed immense pride following her team's victory in the 45th Chess Olympiad, where they secured a coveted gold medal. Speaking about the event, Deshmukh described the intense atmosphere surrounding the last two matches, which she noted were crucial for their success. "It is a very proud feeling. The last two matches were very crucial. The atmosphere was very tense. Our boys’ team had already won a gold, and we wanted to join them on the podium," she shared.

Deshmukh also recounted her experience of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling it a memorable occasion. She revealed that PM Modi invited the team to his residence, where he made sure everyone felt comfortable. "Meeting PM Modi was a great experience. He called us to his residence. He was so humble and made sure that everyone was comfortable," she noted, highlighting the warmth and graciousness of the Prime Minister.

The atmosphere during the meeting was lively, according to Deshmukh, as PM Modi engaged with the team by sharing jokes and imparting knowledge. "The atmosphere was amazing. He cracked jokes, shared knowledge with us," she recalled, indicating how the interaction was both enjoyable and insightful.
