Varanasi: As Maha Shivratri approaches, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi is undergoing extensive preparations to host thousands of devotees and sadhus arriving for the grand celebration. Temple authorities are ensuring that the spiritual and logistical arrangements align with the significance of the festival.

“Maha Shivratri is the biggest festival in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham. At this time, the world’s biggest festival, Maha Kumbh, is also underway, which concludes with the holy bath of Mahashivratri,” said Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. He noted that a large number of Naga Sanyasis would be visiting Kashi for the occasion, and the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Trust has arranged floral offerings to welcome them.

To ensure accessibility, the temple administration has introduced live streaming of the darshan for physically challenged individuals, children, and the elderly. “Live streaming will be available throughout the day on our YouTube and social media channels,” Mishra added.

With massive crowds expected, authorities have also issued a public advisory. “Devotees, especially those fasting, are requested not to stand in long queues on an empty stomach, as the wait time for darshan will be lengthy, which could lead to health issues,” he warned.
