Ahmedabad, Gujarat – Congress Member of Parliament Gaurav Gogoi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Ahmedabad, accusing the PM of systematically dismantling the constitutional rights of Indian citizens and failing to address the country’s pressing economic issues.
"PM Modi has only one goal—how to abolish the constitutional rights of the people in India," Gogoi alleged while speaking to reporters. He claimed that a series of government decisions under Modi’s leadership have directly harmed farmers, the small and middle-class population, as well as shopkeepers and industrial sectors.
Gogoi pointed to the recent increase in domestic LPG cylinder prices by Rs 50, and the government's silence over the development as evidence of its disconnect from public concerns. “They are silent on that. On the real issues of the country, they do nothing,” he said, further criticizing the government’s lack of response to the economic implications of recent U.S. trade tariffs.
Highlighting what he described as a growing economic crisis, Gogoi accused the Modi administration of focusing on political narratives while ignoring the ground realities faced by common citizens.
