Jammu: Former Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP), Shesh Paul Vaid, has expressed strong support for the Indian government’s decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty in response to ongoing tensions with Pakistan. Vaid, a seasoned security expert, believes the move sends a clear message to Pakistan about the consequences of its actions.

“It is a very good decision...it is important to make Pakistan realise this game of blood played by them isn't right. They will have to abandon this way,” Vaid stated, emphasizing that Pakistan must cease its hostile activities and respect peaceful relations.

Referring to the legal provisions of the Indus Water Treaty, Vaid noted, “As per the clause of the Indus Water Treaty, if a member isn't satisfied, they can walk away, so India has taken the right decision.”
