The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that all Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used in the 2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections have passed a comprehensive post-poll Checking and Verification (C&V) process. The exercise was conducted in response to formal applications submitted by 10 candidates across 10 Assembly constituencies.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Commission said, “As per instructions issued by the Commission on 17th June 2025, the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra has completed the EVM Checking and Verification pertaining to General Elections to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly–2024.”

The verification involved thorough checks of ballot units, control units, and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs). According to the Commission, all machines successfully cleared the diagnostic tests and, notably, no mismatches were found between the recorded electronic vote count and the physical count of VVPAT slips.

“This exercise proves, yet again, that the EVMs are tamper proof,” the EC added, emphasizing the transparency and reliability of the electoral process.
