ECI Transfers of Non-Cadre Officers Posted As DMs And SPs In 4 States

the ECI stated that the posts of DMs and SPs are for officers of Indian Administrative Services and Indian Police Services. The transfer orders were issued in four states namely West Bengal, Gujarat, Punjab, and Odisha.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, the Election Commission of India issued transfer orders of non-cadre officers posted at leadership positions as District Magistrates and Superintendent of Police in four states on March 21, Thursday.

Moreover, the ECI stated that the posts of DMs and SPs are for officers of Indian Administrative Services and Indian Police Services. The transfer orders were issued in four states namely West Bengal, Gujarat, Punjab, and Odisha. 

In West Bengal, the officers who are to be transferred are DMs of Purba Medinipur, Jhargram, Purba Bardhaman, and Birbhum districts. 

In Gujarat, SPs of Chhota Udaipur and Ahmedabad Rural districts are set to be transferred. SSPs of Pathankot, Fazilka, Jalandhar Rural, and Malerkotla districts in Punjab will be transferred.

Furthermore, the ECI has issued a transfer order for SSP Bathinda in Punjab and SP Sonitpur in Assam as they have familial relations with the elected political representatives.
