BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, the Election Commission of India issued a show cause notice to BJP MP Dilip Ghosh and Congress Spokesperson Supriya Shrinate over their remarks against West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and BJP Lok Sabha Candidate Kangana Ranaut on March 27, Wednesday.

BJP MP Dilip Ghosh and Congress Spokesperson Supriya Shrinate will now have to submit responses and causes for their latest statements which sparked significant controversy.

The move comes after BJP MP Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday took a jibe at West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and remarked that she should identify her own father first as she calls herself daughter of certain states.

Moreover, Supriya Shrinate posted derogatory remarks against BJP Lok Sabha Candidate Kangana Ranaut and her constituency 'Mandi' shortly after the announcement of Ranaut's candidacy. However, Shrinate claimed that the post was made by a parody account misusing her name.
